In an interview, former Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar discussed the political landscape in Punjab, focusing on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress. Responding to Arvind Kejriwal's comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jakhar stated that AAP's standard operating procedure is to deflect from corruption allegations. He noted, "They try to hide behind some religious or sentimental issue, one after another." Jakhar also criticized the Punjab Congress, describing the opposition party as compromised and plagued by internal divisions.
He remarked, "They do not have the guts to look into the eye of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann." Highlighting the BJP's strategy, Jakhar mentioned the party is contesting 117 seats and positioned the BJP as the default choice for voters. He further elaborated on Prime Minister Modi's connection with Punjab, observing that the Prime Minister wore a dark olive green turban to symbolize his support for both the farmers and the soldiers of the state.
