A 28-year-old man from Tamil Nadu was hacked to death while returning from a temple in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district, with police suspecting that the murder may have been the result of a planned conspiracy allegedly involving his wife and her suspected lover. The victim, identified as Ramesh, was a resident of Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu. Police said he had married a woman from Andhra Pradesh in a love marriage around two years ago, and the couple had a young child.
Read Full Story According to investigators, Ramesh had recently visited his in-laws' house to spend time with his family. On the occasion of Amavasya, the family travelled to the Sri Malleswara Swamy temple atop Mallappa Konda to offer prayers. The attack took place while they were returning from the temple. Police said Ramesh was waylaid on the hill road and hacked to death by unidentified assailants.
Investigators are examining claims that immediately after the attack, Ramesh's wife left the spot on the victim's motorcycle along with two unidentified men, raising suspicion about her possible involvement in the murder. Police reached the scene soon after receiving information, secured the area and began collecting forensic evidence. Preliminary investigations suggest the murder may have been premeditated. Police are probing whether an alleged extramarital relationship involving the victim's wife was the motive behind the killing.
However, officials said all angles are being examined and no conclusions have been drawn yet. A case has been registered and efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved. Further investigation is in progress. Ends
