Read Full Story Police have registered a case of kidnapping and theft against an unidentified person and formed four special teams to trace the child. According to the police, the infant, identified as Aryan, was with his 21-year-old mother, Roshni Suraj Sahu, when the incident occurred.
Roshni had reportedly travelled from Vapi in Gujarat to Kalyan to meet a friend after a dispute with her husband. As it was late at night, and she had nowhere else to stay, she slept under the flyover outside the railway station with her si month-old son in her lap. When she woke up in the early hours of the morning, Roshni discovered that her son was missing. She also realised that her mobile phone had been stolen. Panic-stricken, she immediately approached the Mahatma Phule Police Station and lodged a complaint, following which an FIR was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police have since intensified efforts to locate the infant. Four dedicated teams have been deployed to investigate the case and track down the accused. Officers are examining CCTV footage from Kalyan Railway Station, the nearby bus stand and adjoining areas in an attempt to identify the suspect and reconstruct the sequence of events. Investigators are also questioning auto-rickshaw drivers, street vendors and local residents who may have witnessed any suspicious movement around the time of the incident. While preliminary findings indicate that the child was taken away when the mother was asleep, police said they are keeping all possible angles open and are conducting a comprehensive investigation.
The abduction has raised concerns over the safety of vulnerable people sleeping in public spaces. Police said efforts to trace the si month-old are continuing on priority, with surveillance footage, field inquiries and coordinated search operations expected to play a crucial role in identifying the accused and ensuring the child's safe recovery.
