The 9th edition of ‘The Hindu Home Expo’ began at the LuLu Mall Grand Atrium, Akkulam, on Friday (July 17, 2026), with Minister for Tourism and Culture P.C. Vishnunadh inaugurating the event. Speaking after the inauguration, the Minister said that public discourse is now once again favouring environmentally friendly construction, and that the traditional architecture of Kerala had always been environmentally sustainable. “It is heartening to see that Kerala is returning to its traditional architectural practices after a brief deviation,” said the Minister.
The Minister added that a home is a place where fond memories are created and cherished, even though it is a structure built with bricks and other materials. S. Anandan, Resident Editor of The Hindu, Kerala, presided over the function. S.N. Raghuchandran Nair, convener general of CREDAI Kerala, and president of the Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce; Jayadeep Narasiman, senior general manager and Kerala head of CERA Sanitaryware Ltd.; and Arun A. Unnithan, president of CREDAI Thiruvananthapuram, also spoke on the occasion. Sundar Kondur, chief revenue officer of The Hindu Group, welcomed the gathering, while K.K. Joshy, AVP and Kerala business head of The Hindu Group, proposed the vote of thanks.
The three-day event features more than 150 properties from 40 leading builders, priced between ₹55 lakh and ₹5 crore. The properties include apartments and villas located across prime locations in the city. Only Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (K-RERA)-approved projects are being showcased at the expo. The event is presented by CERA Sanitaryware Ltd. Major highlights of the expo include special offers from builders, a site visit facility from the venue, gifts for all confirmed bookings, reduced home loan interest rates, convenient shopping hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and free parking.
Four leading banks are offering attractive home loan schemes at specially reduced interest rates for visitors at the expo. Last year, more than 100 properties were sold at the expo. The gift sponsors of the event include Swayamvara Silks; Style Plus; The Leela Raviz, Kovalam; and KTDC.
