In an interview ahead of the 2026 monsoon session of Parliament, Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi discussed the government's legislative agenda, focusing on the Delimitation Bill and the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Addressing opposition concerns that the government is attempting to manufacture a majority to pass the defeated delimitation bill, Sarangi stated, "Creating noise is not the solution. Coming up with logical arguments is the answer." She emphasized that the women's reservation bill cannot be implemented without a census and delimitation process.
Sarangi urged opposition parties to support the government's formula for the benefit of women, remarking, "I just pray that the opposition parties do stand by women this time." She noted that the government is open to suggestions from all political parties and hopes to avoid a repeat of the 2025 monsoon session, where 66 percent of the allotted time was disrupted. An all-party meeting is scheduled for July 19, followed by a Democratic Alliance meeting on July 21.
