A five-year-old nursery student in Lucknow was assaulted by his class monitor inside the classroom while the teacher was away. CCTV footage of the incident shows the student being repeatedly slapped, punched, and having his hair pulled. The child returned home with visible facial injuries, prompting his parents to demand action. The family alleges the assault lasted nearly 12 minutes without any intervention from school staff.
In response, the school has expelled the accused student and lodged a police complaint. The principal assured the family of stricter supervision measures, while the police are examining the CCTV footage to investigate whether there was any lapse in supervision.
