Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari officially launched the scheme. It was originally scheduled to roll out on July 15 but was postponed by two days due to administrative reasons. New Portal, Digital Health Cards The new NEHS web portal allows employees to download their digital health cards.
According to the Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC), registered beneficiaries will receive access to their new digital health cards from the day of the launch. The state government plans to empanel around 360 leading hospitals under the scheme to provide quality healthcare to employees. Treatments will be offered at Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates, enabling beneficiaries to access cashless medical services. Employees To Contribute 1.5% Of Basic Pay To fund the scheme, employees will contribute 1.5% of their monthly basic salary. The Telangana government will match the employee’s contribution with an equal amount, creating a jointly funded health pool. The scheme will be implemented through the newly created Employees Health Care Trust (EHCT). Chief Secretary Kumari issued the final government order (GO) approving the trust on Wednesday night, clearing the way for the scheme’s rollout. Employee unions have welcomed the government’s decision.
