The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee has announced that the last date for applying for MBBS and BDS courses is 5 p.m. on July 23, 2026. So far, the committee has received over 41,000 completed applications. According to a notification, the committee had published the list of documents required for undergraduate medical applications on April 28 for the benefit of students.
The application window was opened from June 29 to give students adequate time for submitting their applications. With NEET results declared on July 16, the application window will remain open for another week. Considering the need
for scrutiny of all the applications, publication of lists of ineligible candidates and the need for Grievance Redressal Window for these candidates (who were found ineligible during scrutiny) and the expected short timelines for UG medical
counselling by the Directorate General of Health Services, there will not be any extension for the last date for applications, the committee said. It advised candidates to fill and submit their applications well ahead of the last date.
