Not only is land being allotted to the BSF for fencing purposes, but holding centers have also been activated across several districts. These centers currently house 386 Bangladeshi infiltrators. Kept under tight security, these suspects are also being monitored via CCTV surveillance. These specific holding centers are located in Malda and Jalpaiguri. A total of 11 such holding centers have been established across the state, situated in Baruipur, the Sundarbans, Basirhat, Bongaon, Barasat, Murshidabad, Jangipur, Krishnanagar, Malda, Cooch Behar, and South Dinajpur—all of which remain under Shah's direct watch.
बंगाल चुनाव से पहले जिस घुसपैठ को बीजेपी ने अपना सबसे बड़ा चुनावी मुद्दा बनाया था, अब उस पर तेजी से एक्शन हो रहा है। ना सिर्फ बीएसएफ को फेंसिक के लिए जमीन दी जा रही है, बल्कि कई जिलों में होल्डिंग सेंटर्स भी एक्टिव कर दिए गए हैं। जहां इस वक्त मौजूद है 386 बांग्लादेश की घुसपैठिए। कड़ी सुरक्षा के बीच रखे इन संदिग्धों पर सीसीटीवी से भी निगरानी रखी जा रही है। यह मालदा और जलपाईगुड़ी में बनाए गए होल्डिंग सेंटर हैं। ऐसे 11 होल्डिंग सेंटर पूरे राज्य में स्थापित किए गए हैं जो बरईपुर, सुंदरबन, बसीरहाट, बोगांव, बरासत, मुर्शिदाबाद, जंगीपुर, कृष्णा नगर, मालदा, कच विहार और दक्षिण दिनाजपुर में मौजूद हैं।
