(Credit: FIFA) The winners of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final will receive “bespoke championship rings" alongside the iconic trophy and gold medals, marking the first time FIFA has introduced the honour at one of its competitions, according to the FIFA website. The customised rings, inspired by a long-standing American sporting tradition, will be presented to the tournament champions after the final between Spain and Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19. FIFA will produce 2,026 individually numbered rings to commemorate the tournament. Thirty of those rings will be reserved for members of the winning team, while the remaining 1,996 will be released worldwide as an official licensed product for fans.
Each ring will feature the FIFA World Cup trophy on one side, with the other side customised to reflect the identity of the champion team. Every ring will be individually numbered, custom-fitted and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Immediately after the final, the winning team’s captain and head coach will be presented with temporary rings to mark the occasion. The 30 rings for the champions will then be individually customised before being officially presented at a later date, ensuring the perfect lifelong fit for an achievement that will echo through eternity. Spain Vs Argentina In World Cup Final Defending champions Argentina entered the title clash with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over England in the semifinal earlier this week. After trailing at halftime, Argentina levelled through Enzo Fernandez before Lautaro Martinez struck a stoppage-time winner to seal their place in the title clash against Spain. Lionel Messi provided assists for both the Argentine goals. The defeat ended England’s hopes of reaching their first FIFA World Cup final since 1966. Spain advanced to the World Cup final for the first time since lifting the trophy in 2010 with a composed 2-0 victory over France.
Lamine Yamal played a pivotal role in victory, winning a penalty after dispossessing Lucas Digne. Mikel Oyarzabal converted the spot-kick in the 22nd minute to hand Spain the lead. Pedro Porro then doubled Spain’s advantage after the break following a well-worked move involving Dani Olmo, while France struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. Yamal also had a goal ruled out for offside, and despite late attempts from Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni, Spain’s defence stood firm to record its sixth clean sheet in seven matches at the tournament.
