A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly pushing a 15-year-old girl from the fourth floor of a building in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, days after she resisted his advances and slapped him. According to police, the accused, identified as Shanawaz, allegedly pushed the minor from the fourth floor of a building at around 10 pm on July 15 before fleeing the scene.
Read Full Story The victim's mother claimed that her daughter had stepped out to buy milk from a nearby shop when Shanawaz abducted her and took her to the fourth floor of a nearby building before pushing her to her death. The mother claimed the accused had been stalking and harassing her daughter for weeks, and continued to threaten her even after she slapped him during a verbal altercation a few days before the incident.
Police said Shanawaz was arrested following an investigation into the incident. Authorities have invoked Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with other relevant provisions and are probing the circumstances leading to the girl's death. The body was sent for post-mortem examination and further investigation is underway.
