'China Acquired 220 Million US Voters' File': Trump Alleges Massive 2020 Election Data Compromise Published By, Last Updated: July 17, 2026, 06:58 IST President Trump alleged China accessed sensitive US election data, claiming a "shocking vulnerability" and "largest compromise of election data in history. US President Donald Trump in Ankara at NATO summit. (AFP photo) United States President Donald Trump on Friday alleged that China gained access to sensitive US election data, renewing his long-standing claims that the 2020 presidential election was compromised. He announced that his administration would declassify intelligence related to what he described as “shocking vulnerabilities" in the country’s election systems.
“Over a period of years, starting during the 2020 election cycle, the People’s Republic of China carried out what is believed to be the largest compromise of election data in history, resulting in China’s illicit acquisition of 220 million US voter files," the US leader said in a televised prime-time address from the White House. Trump has repeatedly maintained that the 2020 election was marred by widespread fraud. However, multiple recounts, audits, and investigations, including reviews by his own Justice Department, did not find evidence of fraud that could have altered the election outcome.
Additionally, more than 60 lawsuits filed by Trump and his allies failed to produce court rulings establishing election fraud sufficient to change the results. This is breaking news.
