Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Thursday met IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh in Amaravati on Thursday during which he brought various issues concerning his constituency to the attention of Lokesh. Mr Lokesh assured the MLA that the issues would be resolved. Rao explained that five acres of land had been allocated and the foundation stone laid for the Film Nagar Cultural Centre between 2014 and 2019, but a technical issue arose as the lease period had not been specified.
Although representatives of Film Nagar had repeatedly appealed to the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, their requests were ignored. Lokesh responded positively to the request to allocate the land with a clearly defined lease period. The MLA also pointed out that while the TDP government had allocated one acre of land for the proposed Kapu Bhavan in Yendada, the YSRCP government had reduced it to half an acre and requested that orders be issued to allocate the one-acre plot for the Bhavan.
The Minister also assured Mr. Rao that steps would be taken to resume the stalled construction of buildings at the Simhachalam Gurukul School. A request was made for funds to provide a dedicated facility for the Junior College, which was currently operating out of four classrooms in the Anandapuram High School due to the lack of its own building. The legislator also requested to sanction a degree college for the rapidly developing Madhurawada area and to upgrade the PHC and the Bheemili CHC into 100-bed hospitals.
A request was also made to allocate 100 acres for a dedicated Women’s SEZ. A positive response was given regarding the beautification of Chillapeta Lake, establishment of an ‘Anna Canteen’ at Anandapuram Junction, and the resolution of issues concerning Inam lands.
