A Maharashtra Navnirman Sena representative criticized the civic body, alleging that the inquiry was conducted by engineering staff lacking botanical expertise.
The party accused the Garden Department of severe negligence and red tapism, claiming they ignored previous directives from the state leadership to conduct scientific surveys of decaying trees. Furthermore, the civic body's appointed contractors were dismissed as mere woodcutters without proper diagnostic equipment. With the administration yet to withdraw the findings or initiate a fresh probe, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has announced plans to launch a severe agitation against the municipal commissioner and the Garden Department next week, demanding accountability and a scientifically sound re-inquiry into the tragic incident.
