A thirty-seven-year-old man from Hyderabad is in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times at a mall in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. The incident occurred on Tuesday when an attacker approached the man, asked for water, and then questioned his name and religion. Upon learning the man is Muslim, the attacker stabbed him more than sixteen times.
The victim is undergoing multiple surgeries for injuries to his heart and lungs. The victim's family in India has requested assistance from the Indian government and the Indian Embassy in the United States, seeking emergency visas to travel and support the victim and his wife.
