The ISKCON mandir in Vijayawada organised the Jagannath Rath Yatra on a grand scale, with the participation of thousands of devotees. Devotees from across the country participated in the Rath Yatra. A chariot was decorated with colourful flowers.
The city wore a festive look, with the devotees singing devotional songs. The Rath Yatra began fromSitara Grounds at Bhavanipuram and reached Gundicha Mandir set up near Seethamma Vaari Padalu near Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvaarla Devastanam.
The devotees offered fruits and flowers to Lord Jagannath, took ‘teerdha prasadams’ and blessings as the chariot passed through the streets. En route, the devotees showered flowers and performed cultural programmes. The streets were abuzz with the chants of ‘Jai Jagannath’.
ISKCON temple, Vijayawada, president Chakradhari Das, distributed Maha Prasadam to devotees. Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad and others also participated in the programme.
