A new assessment by leading China military analyst Andreas Rupprecht, published in The War Zone, suggests China may already operate around 500 J-20 'Mighty Dragon' stealth fighters-more than double many previous global estimates. If current production continues, China could field nearly 1,000 J-20s by 2030, while India's indigenous Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) is expected to enter service only around 2035.
