On unemployment, he called the current situation a cruel joke on India's youth, pointing out that PhD, MBA, and engineering graduates are applying for peon and sanitation worker positions, with surveys suggesting nearly 60% of youth have stopped job hunting altogether. Ahead of Rahul Gandhi's visit to Dehradun for the "Chhatron Ki Goonj" program, Surjewala accused the BJP government of a systematic attack on education, citing the NEET paper leak, the Maharashtra TET leak, and exam irregularities in Haryana.
On the Ram Mandir donation controversy, he questioned the Supreme Court's role, since it was the Court that constituted the temple trust, and confirmed Congress will raise the issue in Parliament.
