Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari resigned from his post on Thursday (July 16, 2026) saying he was insulted in the party and he would no longer continue in the post. Tiwari submitted his resignation letter to the State party president Mangani Lal Mandal.
He said that RJD president Lalu Prasad and party leader Rabri Devi are feeling “helpless” these days. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav who is also the Leader of Opposition in State Assembly is currently on a foreign tour and Mr. Tiwari said he was not in touch with Mr. Yadav.
“There is no point to remain in the party after being insulted repeatedly… I‘ve resigned from all posts of the party and the party itself”, Mr. Tiwari said. Tiwari has been in the RJD for several years.
He hails from Bhagalpur district of Bihar.
