Reiterating the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to strengthening the State’s handloom and handicraft sectors, Minister for Handlooms and Textiles, BC Welfare and EWS Welfare S. Savitha on Thursday said the government would continue to support artisans by expanding market access, encouraging innovation, while preserving traditional skills and facilitating participation in national and international exhibitions. (Lepakshi) Pasupuleti Hari Prasad, visited the Andhra Pradesh (Lepakshi) Pavilion at the ongoing Bharat Te 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Savitha interacted with the artisans, appreciated their craftsmanship and lauded Lepakshi for showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s rich handicraft heritage through live demonstrations of crochet lace, Pedana Kalamkari, carpet weaving and Kalamkari block printing. Hari Prasad said the Andhra Pradesh Pavilion received an overwhelming response, attracting over 3,000 visitors and generating more than 120 business enquiries from domestic and international buyers, besides several proposals for product sourcing, design collaborations and export partnerships.
Emporium renovated The Minister would inaugurate the newly renovated Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium at the State Emporia Complex on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in New Delhi, at 5.30 p.m. on July 17, 2026 (Friday). Managing Director Vishwa Manoharan announced that the event would be attended by Government of Andhra Pradesh Adviser (Handlooms and Handicrafts) Suchitra Ella, Special Chief Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles (Industries and Commerce) R.
P. Sisodia, Andhra Pradesh Bhavan Resident Commissioner Praveen Kumar, while Mr. Hari Prasad would preside over the function. The renovated showroom has been redesigned to showcase Andhra Pradesh’s rich handicrafts heritage in a modern retail environment.
