Veteran writer, literary critic and former Kerala Sahitya Akademi member Shoranur Karthikeyan died on Thursday at the age of 84 while undergoing treatment for age-related ailments.
A former Principal of Sree Kerala Varma College and Vivekananda College, Dr. Karthikeyan was a prolific author who wrote 94 books across fiction, literary criticism and other genres.
Over a distinguished literary career, he received around 40 awards in recognition of his contributions to Malayalam literature. A resident of Ayyanthole in Thrissur, mortal
remains of Dr. Karthikeyan will be cremated at Shanthitheeram in Shoranur on Friday.
