The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday (July 16, 2026) trapped an executive engineer and an assistant engineer of the Irrigation Department in Adilabad district for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹60,000 to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a poultry farm. According to the ACB, executive engineer Rathod Vittal was arrested by the Adilabad range unit after he demanded and accepted the bribe through assistant engineer Rupavathi Ramesh in return for extending an official favour.
The ACB said the complainant and his brothers had sought an NOC from the Irrigation Department to construct a poultry farm on their agricultural land at Sonal village in Adilabad district. The certificate was required as a small canal passes adjacent to the land. The tainted cash of ₹60,000 was recovered from the accused officials.
Both accused were produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar for judicial remand. Further investigation is underway. The ACB withheld the identity of
the complainant for security reasons and urged members of the public to report demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free helpline or official social media platforms.
