Hyderabad Police deployed around 2,000 personnel and intensified surveillance along the route for the Golconda Jagadambika Bonalu celebrations that began on Thursday. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar inspected the security and bandobust arrangements from the foothills to the top of the Golconda fort on the occasion of the presentation of the first Bonam.
The police have deployed special contingents along the entire stretch from Langar Houz X Roads to the temple. Drone cameras and a large number of CCTV cameras are being used for round-the-clock surveillance, while the Crime Wing has stepped up vigilance to prevent property offences, including pickpocketing and chain snatching.
SHE Teams have also been deployed to ensure the safety of women devotees. The Traffic Police have made special arrangements for organised parking and vehicle movement to prevent congestion. The Commissioner said advance arrangements had been made to ensure that devotees faced no inconvenience during the festival.
He said the Law and Order and Traffic wings, along with other government departments, were working in coordination to ensure peaceful and secure Bonalu celebrations.
