Rapid Read Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on Thursday issued a scathing warning against corruption in the state and also launched a bribery helpline. Vijay said that any minister found involved in corruption or policy irregularities would be removed from office. Chairing a Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat, Vijay reaffirmed his government’s commitment to delivering a corruption-free administration. The chief minister instructed every department to ensure that public services are provided without bribery and stressed that corruption would not be tolerated at any level. “I did not come here just for a five-year tenure. People have reposed their faith in us, and we must live up to their expectations.
Our promise of clean governance should be reflected in action," a minister quoted Vijay as saying during the meeting, as per a report by Times Of India. Vijay also made it clear that disciplinary action would be taken against anyone found guilty, regardless of their position, and asked ministers to strictly implement the government’s anti-corruption policy across all departments. How Can Citizens Report Bribery In Tamil Nadu? The Tamil Nadu government recently launched a dedicated WhatsApp anti-bribery helpline to encourage citizens to report corruption by government officials. Citizens can file complaints by sending details to 94981 80936. They are encouraged to include the name of the government office, the official involved (if known), the date and place of the incident, and any supporting evidence such as photographs, videos or audio recordings. Complaints can also be submitted through the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) via its telephone helplines, email or by visiting its office in Chennai.
Officials have said that all complaints received through the WhatsApp number will be verified before appropriate action is taken. Government Tightens Curbs on ‘Reels Culture’ Besides corruption, the chief minister also expressed concern over the growing trend of filming and sharing social media reels inside schools and colleges. He directed ministers to ensure that educational institutions remain free from such activities and asked officials to strictly enforce the government’s instructions. The directive comes amid criticism over videos reportedly filmed on school and college campuses involving members of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Opposition parties have repeatedly criticised the government over what they describe as the growing “reels culture" since the party came to power.
