The BMC is currently investigating the cause of this waste accumulation, with allegations suggesting the trash is coming from a leaked or diverted nala. Around 180 tons of garbage are being removed from the beach every day.
The BMC has deployed solid waste department labourers, trucks, and excavators to clear the seashore. However, the sea continues to throw back tons of waste, leading to complaints from local residents and tourists as cleanup operations continue.
