India Today visited IIT Kanpur's advanced engine research laboratory, where scientists conducted extensive tests on E20 ethanol-blended petrol using BS6 car engines and motorcycles. According to the researchers, the study found no evidence that E20 fuel causes engine damage, abnormal wear or significant mileage loss. The tests also showed that driving habits, maintenance and road conditions have a greater impact on fuel efficiency than E20 fuel.
