Gurugram Woman Runs Car Over Sleeping Domestic Worker, Rushes Her To Hospital, Returns Body To Spot Published By, Last Updated: July 16, 2026, 12:52 IST A 57-year-old domestic worker died after a woman allegedly ran her over with a Thar in Gurugram. A 57-year-old domestic worker was allegedly run over by a woman driving a Mahindra Thar inside a residential society in Gurugram. Police said the driver took the injured woman to a private hospital, but after doctors declared her dead, allegedly brought her body back and left it at the same spot where the accident had occurred. The incident took place at Ansal Versalia Society in Sector 67, Gurugram. The deceased has been identified as Guddi, a resident of Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, Guddi had finished work at one of the flats in the society and was sleeping in the ground-floor parking area when the incident occurred. A woman living in the same building was reversing her Thar when the vehicle allegedly ran over her. However, doctors declared the domestic worker dead after examination. Investigators said the woman later returned to the society and allegedly placed Guddi’s body back at the exact location in the parking area where the accident had taken place.
After receiving information about the incident, a team from Sector 65 Police Station reached the society, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The victim’s nephew alleged that the driver’s family placed the body back in the parking area and did not inform anyone that Guddi had died. The incident sparked protests outside the driver’s residence after residents and others learned about what had happened. Police are questioning the driver to establish the sequence of events. Officials said CCTV footage from cameras installed inside the society is being examined as part of the investigation. “Footage from CCTV cameras installed at the location is being examined. Further action will be taken based on the facts that emerge during the investigation," a senior police officer said.
