The reports did not specify whether there were any casualties or confirm whether the hospital itself was damaged. These claims could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate comment from the US military. The incident came as the United States carried out fresh wave of strikes against Iran within 24 hours. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the operation targeted Iranian military assets, including command centres, air defence systems, missile and drone infrastructure, and coastal surveillance facilities allegedly used to threaten commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM also said US forces disabled the Curacao-flagged oil tanker M/T Belma, which it said was attempting to breach the naval blockade of Iranian ports. According to the US military, an aircraft fired Hellfire missiles into the vessel’s smokestack, rendering it inoperable without sinking it. Iranian media also reported explosions in several cities, including Bandar Abbas, Rask, Chabahar, Qeshm, Bandar Imam Khomeini and Bushehr, home to Iran’s only civilian nuclear power plant. Meanwhile, Iran said it had launched retaliatory attacks on US military installations in the Gulf region. Iranian state media reported that the Iranian army targeted communication systems and fuel storage facilities at the US-operated Azraq Air Base in Jordan using attack drones.
