The decision comes a day after the poll panel announced similar revisions for Andhra Pradesh and Haryana, taking the total number of states with updated SIR schedules to six within two days. According to separate communications issued to the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of the four states, the revised calendar has been approved following requests from the state election machinery for additional time to complete field verification. For Delhi and Karnataka, house-to-house verification will now continue until August 8, with polling station rationalisation also scheduled to conclude on the same day.
