India is emerging as a global defence manufacturing hub, with Israeli defence company Rafael reportedly in talks to produce Iron Dome interceptors in the country. This development coincides with India exporting BrahMos supersonic missiles to the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia, strategically positioning a missile network around the South China Sea to counter Chinese naval dominance. Meanwhile, a bipartisan group of United States senators has proposed a sanctions bill, backed by President Donald Trump, threatening tariffs of up to 100 percent on countries, including India, that purchase Russian oil.
In the Middle East, the United States launched extensive military strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz, prompting retaliatory attacks from Iran on American military assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.
