Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) have joined hands to ensure integrated development of Tiruchanur, the abode of Goddess Padmavati. At a review meeting conducted on various developmental projects here on Wednesday, TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy announced several road widening projects in and around the village to ease traffic congestion and ensure planned development, in view of the rising pilgrim footfalls.
It was proposed to take up widening of the congested road leading from the Chennai-Bengaluru highway to Tiruchanur, where the duo announced compensation in the 1:2 ratio and also provide alternate accommodation in Daminedu village, near the district Collectorate. โIn view of the increasing pilgrim influx into the world famous temple of Goddess Padmavati, we have to take up road widening and also provide a new parking facility in 3.5 acres of land, located 200 metres from the temple,โ Mr. B.R. Naidu said, adding that the proposal had the consent of the Chief Minister N.
Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. The proposal is being studied by the District Collector and Joint Collector in consultation with the stakeholders. โSome
residents have extended cooperation and also volunteered to surrender their land,โ Mr. Divakar Reddy pointed out.
