A 19-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide at her home in Rajasthan on Tuesday, with her family telling police that she had been under stress after her examination did not go as expected. The deceased, identified as Kamakshi, was found hanging at her residence in Indira Colony in Behror. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
Read Full Story According to Behror Police, Kamakshi had appeared for the Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) re-examination on June 21 and had been upset over her performance. Police said the incident came to light around 1.30 pm when Kamakshi's mother, a government school teacher, returned home and found her hanging inside a room. She immediately alerted her husband. Her father, Jagdish Prasad, rushed home, brought her down and took her to Park Hospital in Behror, where doctors declared her dead.
Following the incident, police reached the hospital, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem. The body was handed over to the family later in the evening after the post-mortem examination. Kamakshi was the eldest of three siblings. While her mother works as a government school teacher, her father is employed as a teacher at a private school. According to her family, Kamakshi had long aspired to become a doctor and had appeared for the NEET examination with that dream in mind.
Police said the case prima facie appears to be a suicide. Statements of family members have been recorded, and further investigation is underway. Ends
