PM Modi to virtually inaugurate upgraded Hi-Tech City railway station on July 17

The Hi-Tech City Railway Station, which has undergone a major redevelopment at a cost of ₹26 crore, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing on Friday. The upgraded station features a 12-metre-wide foot overbridge, additional lifts and escalators, improved signage, and several other passenger amenities.
It is among the 40 railway stations being redeveloped in Telangana under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) at a total cost of over ₹2,000 crore, South Central Railway (SCR) chief PRO A.Sridhar said at a press briefing on Wednesday. The Hi-Tech City suburban railway station falls under the Secunderabad Division on the Lingampalli-Secunderabad route.
Around 62 MMTS services operate through the station, connecting passengers to Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Umdanagar, Falaknuma, Medchal and Ghatkesar. The station handles an average daily footfall of about 3,000 passengers. Under the redevelopment programme,
the station has been equipped with a new entrance portico, improved circulating area, additional platform shelter, modern toilets, a waiting hall, and enhanced facilities for persons with disabilities, said SCR in a press release.
