The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a massive overhaul of the Men's World Cup formats for both ODI and T20 tournaments. Under the new structure, the 14-team ODI World Cup will feature a three-stage format, introducing a new Super Series round before the group stage, with a Super Seven stage replacing the old Super Six format. The top four teams from the Super Seven will qualify for the semifinals.
Additionally, the 20-team T20 World Cup will expand its second stage from eight to ten teams, allowing two more teams to qualify for the Super 10. The ICC is also introducing a new 16-team global tournament for associate nations to make matches more competitive and meaningful.
