The proposed one-way traffic system around KBR Park in Hyderabad will be fine-tuned after officials identified narrow stretches causing bottlenecks during a recent trial run, the city Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said on Wednesday (July 15, 2026). Sajjanar, along with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan and other senior officials inspected the roads around the park for nearly two hours from 7 a.m. The team covered around five kilometres and reviewed traffic movement at Agrasen Junction, Film Nagar, Journalist Colony, Jubilee Hills Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills Check Post and the park’s main entrance.
The officials directed the GHMC to widen select narrow stretches to address peak-hour congestion. They also decided to introduce distinct lane markings and pelican signals at pedestrian crossing points to improve safety. The
inspection followed a recent trial of the one-way system under the H-CITI project. Sajjanar said minor civil works required for implementing the system would be expedited and stressed the need for close coordination
between the police and GHMC. The corporation’s Commissioner said the one-way system would be implemented effectively to ease congestion around KBR Park and urged commuters to cooperate during the execution of the works.
