Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said the Conference (NC) has not yet received permission from the Delhi Police to hold its proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on July 20. Addressing the issue, Abdullah said the party has been kept waiting for a response from the Delhi Police.
"We haven't got the permission from the Delhi Police yet. We have been kept on waiting," he said. Read Full Story Despite the pending approval, Abdullah said the Conference would proceed with its plans to travel to the national capital. "We will leave for New Delhi on July 19 come what may," he said.
The chief minister also said the party has prepared an alternative plan if permission for the Jantar Mantar protest is not granted. "We have an alternate plan ready. Even if we are not given permission for the Jantar Mantar protest, we will still meet and discuss the issue in Delhi," Abdullah said.
He further said the Conference would continue with its planned July 20 protest despite the passing away of his uncle. "We are going ahead with our July 20 protest despite my uncle's passing away," Abdullah said. Ends
