The accused, identified as Yuvaraj, allegedly carried out the attack after his relative and fiancée, Varsha, expressed reluctance to go ahead with their marriage, Times of India quoted police as saying.
The two had gotten engaged two months earlier, but recent differences reportedly led Varsha to call off the wedding — a decision that allegedly left Yuvaraj angered. How Did The Attack Unfold? According to police, Yuvaraj arrived at Varsha’s house early Wednesday morning armed with a sickle while she was standing outside, and launched an attack on her. When her mother, Vinayaga Jothi, stepped in to try and protect her daughter, Yuvaraj allegedly turned the weapon on her as well. Vinayaga Jothi succumbed to her injuries at the scene. What Happened To Varsha? Varsha sustained severe injuries in the attack and was rushed to Virudhunagar Government Hospital, where she remains under treatment. What Action Have Police Taken?
