The service has been introduced as a pilot in Bengaluru, allowing customers to order LPG cylinders and get the same delivered at their doorstep. The pilot service has begun in Bengaluru’s Subramanyapura area today (July 15), according to The Economic Times and Deccan Herald. Under the collaboration, customers can order HPCL’s newly launched 10-kg composite LPG cylinder, HP Navya, along with the existing 5-kg metal LPG cylinder. NO EXISTING LPG CONNECTION REQUIRED As per the reports, consumers will not require an existing domestic LPG connection to purchase the cylinders via the Instamart app. First-time customers will be required to complete identity verification and proof-of-delivery formalities before receiving the cylinder.
Subsequent orders will be treated as refills, with the empty HPCL cylinder collected at the time of delivery, the reports said. The offering is aimed at students, working professionals, tenants, small families and people living in temporary accommodation who need a compact cooking gas solution. The partnership also marks the commercial rollout of HPCL’s newly launched HP Navya 10-kg composite LPG cylinder, according to The Economic Times. The cylinder has been designed as a lighter and corrosion-resistant alternative to conventional steel cylinders. It also features a translucent body that allows users to monitor gas levels. The product has been positioned for apartments, smaller households and consumers seeking a convenient secondary LPG cylinder. The reports added that all orders placed through Instamart will be fulfilled through HPCL’s authorised distributor network, with deliveries carried out by trained personnel in accordance with applicable safety and regulatory protocols. COMPANIES ON THE PARTNERSHIP Commenting on the launch, Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha said the partnership extends the platform’s services beyond groceries into another essential household category. “Instamart has expanded its consumption use cases well beyond groceries to become part of everyday life. With HPCL, we’re extending that convenience to an essential household service, bringing LPG onto Instamart while maintaining the safety and reliability standards consumers expect," Jha said, as quoted by Deccan Herald.
