Noida Fire: In a shocking incident, two people were killed after a fire allegedly triggered during the charging of an electric scooter battery spread through a building in Noida’s Mamura area on Wednesday. The incident took place in Mamura village, which falls under Sector 66 and the Phase-3 police station limits. According to preliminary findings, the fire broke out after a battery being charged developed a short circuit, creating a spark that ignited nearby vehicles parked on the ground floor. The flames quickly spread through the building, while thick smoke travelled upwards, trapping residents inside the G+4 structure, which was being used as a paying guest accommodation and housed around 50 families. Upon receiving information about the incident, teams from the fire department rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Firefighters managed to evacuate the trapped residents and bring the blaze under control. Seven fire tenders, hydraulic platforms and rescue vehicles were deployed to carry out firefighting and evacuation operations.

Smoke from the parking area rapidly spread to the upper floors, affecting the residents. “Information was received about a fire in Mamura village under the Phase-3 police station limits. The Fire Services responded immediately. Around 50 families were safely evacuated. However, two people suffered serious health complications due to smoke inhalation and were shifted to the district hospital," Narain said.
