The videos, which show the family’s damaged vehicle after the alleged attack and visuals of the assault on the car, have emerged even as Nashik Police said they have taken nine people into custody in connection with the case. According to police, the investigation has been expanded beyond those initially named in the FIR, with authorities identifying additional accused through video analysis and technical investigation. Nashik (Rural) Superintendent of Police Dhondopant Swami said the investigation has moved beyond the accused originally named in the complaint. “After an FIR was registered, we conducted a thorough analysis, including video review and technical investigation, and have so far identified nine accused individuals," the Nashik (Rural) SP told reporters.
“While the original FIR named six or seven suspects, we have expanded the scope to include those who provided shelter or acted as associates. We have now taken nine accused persons into custody. Further legal proceedings are currently underway," he said. The newly surfaced videos of the alleged attack and the damaged car have added a visual account to the family’s allegations, which are now under police investigation. WOMAN SAYS HARASSMENT LED TO VIOLENT ATTACK According to the complainant, her family of eight had gone to Bhavli Dam for a picnic on July 12 when two men allegedly passed objectionable remarks and harassed her. Recounting the incident to news agency ANI, she said she confronted the two men, leading to an argument. When her husband and brother-in-law joined her, they also questioned the men, who then left the spot. However, she alleged that the confrontation escalated shortly afterwards when more people arrived. “Our family of eight people visited Bhavli Dam on July 12. As I was there, two men aged 20-25 made comments at me and harassed me. So, I scolded them, and it turned into an argument. Later, when my husband and brother-in-law arrived at the scene, they confronted them. Soon after, those two men left the spot." “Later, eight to ten people from their village came and started to argue with us. They started abusing us, and it turned into a physical altercation," she said.
