Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has said she has been waiting for motherhood for a while, as she and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru are set to welcome their first child later this year. The couple, who got married in December 2025, announced in June that they are expecting a baby. In a recent interview, Samantha described pregnancy as a new and exciting phase and spoke about how much becoming a mother means to her. Her comments came after she was seen with a baby bump during the success celebrations of her latest release, Maa Inti Bangaaram, and later confirmed the pregnancy. But I've been waiting for this moment for a while now. I've always wanted to be a mother. So I know that I'll be giving this my all.” She also said pregnancy has given her a new sense of strength and purpose. “I've always been passionate about everything in life. But now I feel I carry a different, new kind of strength and purpose in me. I'm looking forward to this journey a lot. And I'm filled with gratitude, learning every day, and getting ready to embrace whatever comes next,” the actor said. Samantha has previously worked with Raj and DK on the Prime Video series The Family Man Season 2 in 2021 and Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024.
Rumours about her relationship with Raj began in 2024, and in 2025 she shared pictures with the filmmaker that fans saw as a soft launch of their relationship. The two got married in a yogic ceremony at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December 2025, making the relationship official. After she was seen with a baby bump at the Maa Inti Bangaaram success event, Samantha confirmed the pregnancy to the press. She also spoke about taking another break from work after an earlier one following her myositis diagnosis. “After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I will have to take a small gap, given my condition.
I’ll have to take maternity leave. After that, I’ll be back with another film for my fans,” she said. Samantha was earlier married to Naga Chaitanya. After dating on and off for years, they got married in Goa in 2017 and announced their split in 2021, days before their fifth wedding anniversary.
