She further claimed that he later demanded Rs 2.5 lakh more. Rapid Read Capgemini has now filed a detailed complaint with the Bengaluru Police, accusing the daycare operator of gross child safety failures (AI generated image) Days after videos from the Little Scholars daycare centre operating inside the Capgemini campus triggered massive public outrage and a police investigation, the owner of the daycare company has broken her silence. In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, Ramandeep Kaur, proprietor of Little Scholars, claimed the company was the victim of a “highly orchestrated criminal conspiracy, extortion and malicious defamation campaign" allegedly carried out by disgruntled former employees. Kaur alleged that the controversy stemmed from a planned extortion attempt involving former daycare centre manager Manjula, six other terminated nannies, including alleged whistleblower Sujata, and a man identified as “Mahender", who she claims falsely impersonated a police officer. According to Kaur, Little Scholars has handed over all evidence to investigators, including call records, bank transaction details, videos and other digital evidence, and is fully cooperating with both the police investigation and Capgemini’s internal inquiry. Little Scholars Alleges Extortion Plot Speaking to CNN-News18, Kaur claimed that after disciplinary action was initiated against two employees following an alleged altercation inside the daycare, the matter snowballed into what she described as an organised attempt to extort money from the company. According to her, former Centre Manager Manjula acted in collusion with terminated employees, including Sujata, and introduced a person identified as “Mahender", who allegedly posed as a police officer to pressure the company. Kaur alleged that Mahender first sought Rs 20,000 in the name of arranging legal assistance after claiming an FIR had been registered. She further claimed that he later demanded another Rs 2.5 lakh, allegedly promising to resolve the case. Little Scholars claims that when it refused to meet these financial demands and also declined to reinstate the terminated employees, the videos were released publicly, with Sujata allegedly posing as a whistleblower.
The company further alleges that Manjula later obstructed the investigation and absconded after learning from the police that Mahender was allegedly not a police officer but an impostor. Company Says Capgemini Was Only Infrastructure Provider Kaur also sought to clarify Capgemini’s role in the matter. According to her, Capgemini merely provided the premises and infrastructure for the daycare centre operating inside its campus, while Little Scholars was solely responsible for recruitment, staffing, daycare operations and overall management. She maintained that the company has nothing to hide and has extended complete cooperation to investigators. Little Scholars’ Version Of Events According to the company, the sequence of events began on June 25, when Centre Manager Manjula informed Kaur about an alleged physical and verbal altercation between employees Sujata and Vijaya Laxmi R inside the Little Scholars crèche at the Capgemini campus. Kaur said she immediately directed that both employees be terminated under the company’s zero-tolerance policy. While Vijaya Laxmi R surrendered her company identity card, Sujata allegedly refused and demanded payment of her pending salary before handing over her ID. The following day, despite their termination, both employees allegedly returned to the campus. The company claims they threatened Centre Manager Manjula in an attempt to retain their jobs. With ICREST Security and Capgemini security personnel present, both women allegedly wrote apology letters, which were recorded on video and forwarded to Kaur. Despite the apologies, Kaur said she instructed that both women be removed from the premises. According to the company, they refused to leave and remained on the campus until the end of the day. Later that night, Kaur claimed Manjula informed her that Sujata’s son, Gautam, had allegedly made threatening calls to Manjula and security guard Lavanya. Kaur said she instructed that a police complaint be lodged. On June 27, according to the company, Manjula introduced a man identified as “Mahender", claiming he was attached to the Electronic City Police Station and had the influence to resolve the issue. Later that day, Manjula allegedly forwarded a copy of a complaint said to have been filed at the Whitefield Police Station against Sujata and Gautam. The company said that on June 28, Manjula informed Kaur that another complaint had allegedly been received at the HAL Police Station.
