(File) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has significantly intensified its probe into the tragic death of 33-year-old actor-model Twisha Sharma, focusing on a virtual reconstruction of her final hours, financial disputes involving Rs 20 lakh in shares, and alleged digital and physical discrepancies, according to an NDTV report. Following the cancellation of her anticipatory bail by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Twisha’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, was arrested by the agency. A Bhopal district court subsequently granted the CBI five-day custody of both Giribala Singh and her son and Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh.
WHAT THE CBI IS FOCUSSING ON 1. The Rs 20 Lakh Share Dispute & Dowry Demands According to CBI sources, investigators are reviewing family allegations that Samarth and Giribala Singh pressured Twisha to transfer shares valued at nearly Rs 20 lakh into their names, said the NDTV report. The CBI FIR, re-registered after taking over from the Bhopal Police, also notes that Giribala allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh during the traditional wedding vidai ceremony following Twisha’s December marriage. Digital evidence recovered by the CBI indicates that the in-laws allegedly questioned the paternity of Twisha’s pregnancy and systematically pressured her into an abortion as a condition to be accepted in the household. 2. Reconstructing the “Final Hours" via “Tunnel View" The agency is deploying an advanced “tunnel view" investigation technique. This process synchronises CCTV footage, Wi-Fi logs, tower locations, smart-device data, and call detail records (CDRs). Investigators are building a highly granular, virtual timeline of May 12—the night Twisha was found hanging in her Bhopal matrimonial home.
A crucial point of interest is Twisha’s final phone call to her family. Her father recalled she stated, “Phas gayi hu" (I am trapped), before Samarth’s voice was heard in the background and the line abruptly went dead. 3. Official Record Discrepancies & Log Scrutiny The CBI is actively scrutinizing several irregularities in the initial local police documentation, including a glaring discrepancy regarding the recording of Twisha’s actual height in official logs. Investigators are examining whether these log differences were clerical errors or part of a coordinated effort by the legally well-connected family to alter the narrative or tamper with forensic evidence early on, said the report. FORENSIC STATUS The primary post-mortem report noted the cause of death as antemortem hanging. However, it also noted multiple simple injuries on various parts of her body caused by blunt force. A subsequent medical query report ruled out the possibility that these specific blunt force injuries were sustained while her body was being lowered from the ligature, pointing to physical assault prior to death.
The investigation has now widened beyond the immediate family to interrogate domestic staff, neighbors, and visitors who entered the Katara Hills residence immediately following the incident.
