The management of The Little Scholars, the private creche on the Capgemini campus accused of child abuse, has alleged that the footage was “manipulated and created for the purpose of financial blackmail and reinstatement of workers into the daycare facility”. At the same time, the HAL police officials have arrested two accused in this case, including Sujata and Vijaya Laxmi R. But in the press statement, the management has listed four more persons, including centre manager Manjula Kumar Banakar and other staff members, namely Bhavani, Sindhumol O., and Bindu C.N. as accused. Speaking to The Hindu, a senior police official from HAL police station said, “We have arrested only two persons in this case. Investigation is on and the remaining accused are absconding and yet to be traced.” On June 29, 2026, an FIR was registered and CCTV videos went viral, showing caregivers subjecting toddlers to abuse.
This included locking children in toilets, shutting them in front-loading washing machines, and spraying water into their mouths with jet sprays. In a press statement released on Tuesday (July 14), the management said, “Capgemini became the victim of a highly orchestrated criminal conspiracy, extortion, and malicious defamation campaign initiated by disgruntled former employees.” Turn of events Explaining the turn of events that took place in June 2026, the release added, “On June 25, 2026, a physical and verbal altercation occurred between two of our employees, Sujata and Vijaya Laxmi R., during working hours. In strict adherence to our zero-tolerance policy for workplace misconduct, proprietor Ramandeep Kaur issued immediate directives to terminate both individuals and confiscate their company credentials.” The release said, “In retaliation for their rightful termination, Sujata and Vijaya Laxmi R. orchestrated a premeditated plan for extortion and reinstatement into the facility.
To manufacture leverage and exact revenge against Little Scholars, the accused maliciously bypassed our strict security protocols to sneak a mobile phone into the facility. They specifically targeted vulnerable children who could not speak, relocated them to areas outside of our comprehensive CCTV coverage and deliberately staged acts of distress to record them on video. We state unequivocally that this highly manipulated footage was created for the purpose of financial blackmail and reinstatement into the daycare facility.” After accused Sujata acted as a whistleblower by releasing videos and registering an FIR, Centre manager Manjula involved another individual Mahendar, who posed as a police official and directly communicated with Ramandeep and Capgemini using Manjula’s mobile phone, the release alleged. Explaining Mahendar’s role in this, the release alleged, “Mahendar successfully pressurised Ramandeep to transfer ₹20,000 into his account for legal fees and demanded an additional, exorbitant sum of ₹2.5 lakh in order to take advantage of the panic created by leaked footage.
