Arsenal Agree £17m Leandro Trossard Exit As Gunners Line Up Replacement Published By, Last Updated: July 14, 2026, 21:53 IST Arsenal have agreed a £17m deal to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, with the Gunners now stepping up their pursuit of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis. Rapid Read Belgium's Leandro Trossard (AP) Arsenal have agreed a deal worth around £17 million to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas, with the Belgian forward now set to complete a permanent move to Turkey after being granted permission to undergo a medical in Istanbul. The agreement is worth an initial £15.3 million (€18m), with a further £1.7 million (€2m) in performance-related add-ons. Besiktas confirmed negotiations with both Arsenal and the player are underway. Trossard leaves north London after two and a half successful seasons, having joined from Brighton in January 2023 for an initial £21 million.
The 31-year-old scored 36 goals and provided 34 assists in 174 appearances, playing a key role as Mikel Arteta’s side lifted last season’s Premier League title. He remained an important figure throughout the campaign, starting 21 league matches and featuring in Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Trossard also impressed for Belgium at the FIFA World Cup this summer, starting all six matches and scoring twice as his country reached the quarter-finals. With Trossard on his way out, Arsenal are expected to intensify their pursuit of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis. The Gunners have tracked the Greece international since June and are now preparing to make their move. Sporting director Andrea Berta is leading negotiations after assistant sporting director Maurizio Micheli scouted the 24-year-old during Greece’s recent international against Sweden.
Club Brugge are expecting an offer, with Tzolis believed to be available for around £30 million (€35m). However, Arsenal’s recruitment drive is unlikely to stop there. The north London club continue to prioritise Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, although competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid could complicate any deal this summer. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers also remains a leading target, with Arsenal expected to step up their interest once England’s World Cup campaign concludes. PSG winger Bradley Barcola has been identified as an alternative if negotiations for Rogers prove unsuccessful.
