The Andhra Pradesh government has approved administrative sanctions for ₹1,638.52 crore for land acquisition to facilitate the second phase of expansion of the Ramayapatnam, Mulapeta and Machilipatnam greenfield ports. Announcing the decision on Tuesday, Minister for Investments and Infrastructure B.C. Janardhan Reddy said that the approvals were granted to accelerate port-led development and strengthen the State’s coastal infrastructure. A total of 6,248.54 acres will be acquired for the three projects.
The government has sanctioned ₹851 crore for acquiring 2,924.45 acres for the expansion of Ramayapatnam Port in Nellore district, ₹440.52 crore for 1,903.39 acres for Mulapeta Port in Srikakulam district, and ₹347 crore for acquiring 1,420.70 acres for the second phase of Machilipatnam Port in Krishna district. The allocation for Mulapeta also includes rehabilitation and resettlement measures for the affected families, the Minister said.
Janardhan Reddy said the expansion projects would enhance cargo handling capacity, strengthen maritime infrastructure and support industrial and economic growth along the coastline of Andhra Pradesh. Nexus Integrated Logistics Park In another decision, the government allotted 63.01 acres at Chinna Eetivakam in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district for the proposed Nexus Integrated Logistics Park through the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board.
The project is expected to attract an investment of ₹255 crore and generate around 1,000 jobs. The minister said the port expansion projects and logistics park reflect the government’s focus on developing world-class maritime and logistics infrastructure to attract investments and position Andhra Pradesh as a major logistics hub.
