BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran, on Tuesday (July 14, 2026) questioned the efficiency of the Singappen Special Force, as he contended that the harassment of women by TVK functionaries continued. He referred to an incident in Karur district, in which a woman was stalked and harassed reportedly by a TVK functionary.
Referring to claims by her relatives that there was no action even after multiple complaints made to the police, Mr. Nagenthran said such a claim questioned the efficacy of the police force which was operating under the direct control of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.
Joseph Vijay. Raising doubts if association with the TVK was helping people to commit offences and whether the police force was hesitant to act on complaints against TVK functionaries, Mr. Nagenthran questioned the functioning of the Singappen Special Force on such complaints.
He further urged the Chief Minister to keep his partymen under control and ensure the safety of women in the State.
