The Norway World Cup squad arrived back in Olso from the United States on Monday, following their record run at the tournament and ultimate exit in the quarter-finals. Star striker Erling Haaland brought an unusual souvenir home with him - not the golden boot, as fans might have wanted. The Manchester City forward stepped off the plane carrying a a taxidermied raccoon which appears to be posed drinking from a bottle.
Reportedly costing US$ 750, the 'Whiskey Raccoon' was bought from a store in Dallas, Texas. The squad - without Haaland, who could not attend - then received a heroes welcome from an estimated 90,000-strong crowd at the royal palace in the Norwegian capital and were greeted by members of the royal family, including Crown Prince Haakon, who beat the drum as the players and fans performed the now famous 'Viking Row'.
