The family of eight had gone to the popular picnic spot on Sunday when two young men allegedly passed lewd comments and harassed one of the female companions. When the family objected, the accused turned aggressive. When the husband of the victim objected, the men assaulted the family, chased them and attacked their car with sticks and iron rods. “Our family of eight had visited Bhavali Dam. Two men, aged around 20-25, made comments and harassed me. I scolded them, which led to an argument. When my husband and brother-in-law came, they confronted the men, who then left," the woman said while sharing her ordeal with news agency ANI.

They attacked us wherever our vehicle stopped. They chased us for nearly 25 to 30 kilometres. We somehow managed to reach Nashik and lodged an FIR," she said. Her husband described the chase as a nightmare, saying the attackers intercepted their vehicle multiple times. “As we crossed the toll plaza, they attacked us. We broke through the toll barricade to escape. They caught up with us again on a narrow road and attacked us five or six times. We kept seeking help from locals before finally reaching a police station," he said, demanding that the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) be invoked against the accused.

She objected, and my father slapped them. They ran away, but later returned with others from the village. As we drove ahead, they caught up with us and smashed our car windows," she alleged.
