On today's show, US President Donald Trump has reinstated the blockade of Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and demanded a 20% reimbursement for all other cargo shipped through the waterway. Brent oil futures spiked above $85 a barrel for the first time in a month.

Bond traders ramped up bets for a July interest-rate hike by the Fed ahead of US inflation data and Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh's testimony to Congress. Fed Governor Christopher Waller has signaled that further rate hikes may be warranted should underlying inflation continue to reflect broad-based price pressures. And the biggest US banks are due to kick off earnings season. Analysts expect JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to report nearly $39 billion in trading revenue for the second quarter.
